[international_students_movement] [URGENT] Updates (from Germany) + general information
- Dear activists around the world :)*
An updated version of the "overview" of actions during the Global Week of Action is now available here: http://www.archive.org/download/GwaSummary_691/OverviewOfProtests.pdf (*print it out in duplex and fold it!*)
let me begin with the most urgent topic:
*I. 10th "anniversary" of the Bologna declaration!*
June 19th*: 10th "anniversary" of the Bologna declaration!
In Berlin the ministers of education (from across Germany; each state has its own education minister) will meet during a conference (KMK) on that day and activists together with unions are currently organizing a rally with concerts. Later in the evening all the ministers will go to a building owned by "Bertelsmann" (a global media empire also lobbying for "neo-liberal" policies, especially within the public education sector) to have dinner. The slogan of the rally is: "Block KMK - Fight Bologna!" and thousands of people and spontaneous actions are expected.
Right now activists are working on flyers and posters for that day. For that *we need to know, if any other groups are preparing protests against the Bologna process on June 19th, so that we can include that information inside the flyer!!*
- Please do let me know within 24hrs!!*
--> Mo <international.students.movement@googlemail.com> <--
Furthermore we ask groups across Europe (since it is directed against the Bologna process) to *send us mails and videos* (~ 1mins) *of support*, which we can read out and show during the whole "Week of Protest" across Germany! Please send them in SOON! This is really important to show that this struggle is international!!
*II. Greetings of support for the "Educational Strike" in Germany*
From June 15th until June 19th people across Germany will protest against the commercialisation of public education and for free and emancipatory education. The official call can be accessed in
English<http://www.bildungsstreik2009.de/aufruf/strike-call/>,

Polish (Exile Polish) [main part of the text, rest still under construction] at http://www.emancipating-education-for-all.org/content/polnisch%C3%BCbersetzungen-f%C3%BCr-bildungsprotest#comment-333
Currently local alliances consisting of student representative bodies, unions and various social activist groups in more than 60 cities are getting ready for it.
During the last meeting with activists from across Germany in Hamburg, the "German federal protest co-ordination assembly" passed *a letter of support to all groups and activists struggling for free and emancipatory public education around the world*. It can be accessed in English, German, Bengali, Serbian, Italian and French here:

*All groups that want to be added to the list of supporters here:* http://www.bildungsstreik2009.de/aufruf/unterstutzer_innen/ please let me know.
- Furthermore "Greetings of support" are also needed. *These will be published on the website and will help to show the global perspective of the struggle!!
