Gibt es denn konkrete Pläne für einen Streik? Für Ende Mai ist ja ein nationaler Streik geplant.
Gibt es einen Termin um den internationalen Streik zu beginnen?
Wenn es konkrete Pläne gibt, dann kann ich das auch gerne weiterleiten.
Ich habe persönlich Kontakt zu Gruppen in bis zu 30 Ländern weltweit, davon sind ca. 15 in Europa.
Um einen europaweiten Streik auf die Beine zu stellen(,) braucht man dafür viel Unterstützung an den Uni(s) und es braucht sehr viel Einsatz von den jeweiligen Gruppen(,) die das vor Ort organisieren sollen. Streik(s) hätten meiner Meinung zur Zeit nur in Italien, Spanien, Irland und Griechenland Potential, da dort größere Studibewegungen auch aktiv sind. In England ist das Problem(,) da(ß) dort die Proteste von der National Union of Students angeführt (werden), welche kaum einen konfrontativen Kurs unterstützen würde, schätze ich.
Deshalb überlasse ich es vollkommen den Gruppen selbst(,) mit welchen Aktionen sie sich beteiligen.
Und ich glaube, dass solch ein Ansatz mehr Potential hat.
Aber trotzdem könnten in einem engeren Rahmen (z.B. unter Unis in Spanien, Italien, Griechenland und Irland) Streiks koordiniert werden.
Falls du Kontakt hast zu Gruppen, die evlt. auch an einer Aktionswoche Ende Mai sich beteiligen würden, dann wäre es echt gut, wenn wir zusammenarbeiten würden.

ein weitersenden zum den-leuten-die-chance-geben-hinterher-sich-nicht-mit-der-flachen-hand-auf-die-stirn-batschen-zu-müssen muß nicht völlig verkehrt sein. ich bevorzuge da aber wie gesagt, eine variante, die sich nicht ausschließlich auf studenten - und von denen v.a. nicht ausschließlich auf organisierte studenten - konzentriert, ich studiere zu lange, um da allzuviel zu erwarten (zumindest in den hiesigen gefilden).

°°Bis jetzt haben wir uns noch nicht auf ein konkretes Datum für die Aktionswoche geeinigt. Aber in einem oder zwei Monaten werden wir wahrscheinlich auch Poster- und Flyer-Entwürfe benötigen. Wenn du dann bereit wärst welche zu entwerfen, dann wäre das super!
Die Protestform des Streiks ist bis jetzt nur hierzulande geplant und ich glaube auch nicht, dass sich jetzt ein koordinierter Streik auf die Beine stellen lässt, da der direkte Kontakt zu den ganzen Gruppen einfach nicht aufgebaut ist. Die Gruppen müssen sich erst besser kennenlernen und ein "Einheits- & Solidaritätsgefühl" untereinander entwickeln.
Übrigends gibt es ja auch eine Homepage zur internationalen Koordination und Diskussion. Neue Beiträge sind im Forum immer gern gesehen. Die Idee der globalen Aktionswoche, so wie die Homepage, werden sich nur entfallten können, wenn sich viele verschieden Gruppen einbinden und den Protest mitgestalten.°°

Mo: Übrigends, eine wichtige Frage. Ist der Termin für die Aktionswoche hierzulande (also Ende Mai) noch verhandelbar? Da es, wenn wir international Proteste mit einbinden wollen, günstiger wäre Ende April solch eine Woche zu veranstalten. Die Kanadier und U.S. Amerikaner haben nämlich keine Uni mehr Ende Mai.

Sorry for posting at the wrong position. I am not really used to discussing on a wiki :) We have had 7 or so international chat conferences already. Each time new groups joined it, so any activist group should feel free to join it.
Top 2: Announcements (this topic is meant to give all attending people an opportunity to inform others about their local struggle, announce up-coming protests, make suggestions, calling for support [like letters of solidarity] and so on)
Top 3: Here is a quote from the last international chat summary, maybe that will help to understand Top 3 better:
- Groups are asked to contribute to the booklet. It will contain a summary of all the protests and events that took place around the world as part of the international day of action + including a part explaining the local problems (tuition fees, commercialization/privatization of public education, influence by economic/corporate actors,...).
Therefore all groups are asked to write an appropiate text we can use for the planned booklet.
- So far groups in Ireland, Australia, Canada and Germany agreed to work on the booklet. Anybody experienced with lay-outing?

Mo: Before any more suggestions are listed here. Please consider that this will be an international week of action and therefore a name suggestion in English would make sense. Furthermore I am sure most groups won't arrange a strike, therefore we should not choose a name containing the word "strike" or "Streik".
Groups around the world are also struggling against different symptoms: some against tuition fees in general, others only for a drop in tuition fees, some struggle against the closure of departments, the introduction of administration charges or against cuts in the public education budget. Therefore we need a name that includes all of them. That's why I would suggest something like "Global Reclaim your Education Week".
